Creating a P.I.F. Frame (Frame for Printer)

Step 2. Creating a P.I.F. Frame

This section briefly explains how to create a P.I.F. Frame.

Note:
The background/decoration images, the text messages, and the linear images, added in the following procedure, are rendered as a single composed image in the saved frame. You cannot edit them later as separate elements.

For Windows users:
Click the Start button, point to All Programs (Programs for Windows 98SE/Me/2000 users), EPSON PRINT Image Framer, and then select EPSON PRINT Image Framer Tool. Click EPSON PRINT Image Framer Tool.
For Mac OS X users:
Double-click your startup disk icon on the desktop, the Applications folder, EPSON PRINT Image Framer Tool folder, and then EPSON PRINT Image Framer Tool icon.

Click the Create New button.

In the Select a Frame Type dialog box, click Frame for Printer and then click OK.

In the Paper Settings dialog box, configure Paper Size, Paper Direction, Printable Area, and Printer to use, and then click the Edit button.

Note:
  • For the Paper Size, specify the size of the backing paper to edit (i.e. the print sheet.)
  • You cannot change the paper configuration specified here during the P.I.F. frame editing.

Click the Picture Frame button and drag the cursor diagonally where you want to locate a picture frame.

Note:
Whether the Printable Area is set as Border or Borderless in the Paper Settings dialog box, items on the paper's edges, such as a picture frame, may not be printed, depending on the model of the printer to be used.

Click the Background/Decoration button and drag the image where you want to locate it.

The Select Image dialog box appears. Select the image to be inserted and click OK.

Click the Text String button and drag the area where you want to insert a text string.

The Enter Text dialog box appears, where you can input a text string. Select Font, Style, Size, and color, and then click OK.

Click the Line button and drag a line from the starting point to the end point.

After you finish Step 2. Creating a P.I.F. Frame, move on to Step 3. Saving a P.I.F. Frame.
